Some of you wanted to see more of our poster girl, Mistress Missy. While my primary motivation with this comic was to fulfill the freakish affinities for sexy cartoon ladies that you and I both share…I also wanted to poke a little fun at Suicide Girls. Not just them, but the whole idea of “alternative girls” (who are, for the uninitiated, a girl with any combination of the following elements: short hair, piercings, tattoos, multicolored or primary hair colors, far too much eye makeup.) Personally I’m just a sucker for short hair ladies, but I wanted our leading female to be all of those things. And also a giant ho.
A webcomic as sleazy and slutty as HATEFARM needs a star that reflects itself. Also, she should be the embodiment of taboo, sexualization, and have genitals that posses demonic powers. I’m interested in developing her character a little bit more as right now she’s just kind of an empty stereotype. I mean, I know she’s a world renown porn actress dominatrix demon bitch, but why? And why should we care? I’m just saying it’s time she went on an adventure and found out who she really is, deep down inside.
On second thought, nah, we should just stick with the crude and juvenile sex jokes. I think we need a comic with butt sex in it. Hahaha! Butt sex is hilarious.

I believe I’ve mentioned this before, but I feel it bears repeating. The last word you’d think to apply to a porn star is “cute”. The funny thing about Missy, though, is, there’s just something about her, despite all those ugly piercings, tattoos and eye shadow (or maybe even because of all of that stuff)… well, what can I say, she’s adorable!
Also, on a side note: “Being a virgin is hereditary.” Comedy gold right there!

So accurate… and yeah butt sex is pretty funny, especially when it’s put that way. Butt sex! Sex in the butt. or SAX in the butt.. which is what jazz tends to sound like.

I love the exceptional art of all of your comics, and am very drawn to HateFarm for that reason. I find myself habitually leaving this site though, because it is clearly not intended for women readers, and I frequently see my sex being degraded for a purpose that is not clear to me.
I know you’re aspiring to be a widely read comic, and your edge and sophisticated artwork make you quite deserving of a wide readership. From a purely practical stance, you’ll achieve that goal faster if you don’t alienate female readers.
I’d be lying if I said we haven’t been acutely aware of this (at least, in the past few months). We hope to offer our sincerest apologies with next week’s comic, “A Comic For Women”. We couldn’t do any of this without you.
I’d like to personally apologize, and though it is no excuse, alienating women is something I’m unintentionally very, very good at.

I am a female reader, and I don’t feel alienated at all. I think what you guys are doing is awesome; however, I can respect some people may be offended. I believe that’s the price you pay when comedians and the like put themselves out there for their audience.
