I loved Pixar’s “Brave” — those animation magicians sure have beautifully told stories down pat. But lets be real, people. It seems like every animated film out there features a strong female lead character. That’s great and all, but the male spectrum in family animated films is severely under-represented — and when we are, it is usually to fill stereotypical (and borderline sexist) roles, such as the stay at home prince whose only positive characteristic is his good looks. Well if you ask me, I think it’s time for a little change.
That’s why I created this petition for Pixar to recreate the family hit “Brave” starring prop comedy legend Carrot Top. It is my belief that Carrot Top is not only a wonderful role model for today’s young men, but he is also quite possibly the funniest man alive today. Sure, his looks have changed so drastically in the past 15 years that now he could possibly pass for a different species, but his heart remains as solid gold. Sure, his eyebrows, makeup, and muscles may be fake, but his props are not. The movie “Carrot” would be an instant classic, and Pixar could go right back to making movies with strong independent female leads afterwards.
I hope you guys will sign our petition, it is for a good cause. Think of the childrens.
Cameron W. was kind enough to not only sign the petition, but he sent in a piece of “Carrot” concept art he whipped up himself! We will be sure to include a copy of this image in our package to Pixar — they will have a hard time saying no to our cause. If you’ve got any of your own “Carrot” art, don’t be afraid to send it in and we’ll put it up here.
